Unicorns Always Give 100%

I believe Olympic athletes are unicorns. Or at least they seem to abide by number eight in the Unicorn Code.

So how were the Olympics, you may ask? Completely incredible. Seriously, one of the coolest experiences of my entire life. The energy up there is electrifying--there are so many people from ALL over the world, and they're all crazy about their team, dressed up with faces painted, holding signs. And because my dad is a pretty important official, we get "backstage passes" and free tickets and awesome opportunities. For example, one night we went out and were eating with the judges and I was chatting it up with the French judge and she gave me two tickets to go see ice dancing--my favorite of any Olympic (summer or winter) event!

The events I saw were Women's Aerials (t
hose ladies are stunning, seriously, they get AIR and FLIP AROUND and stuff. Which is the point, I guess, but I was like whoa), ski cross (so exciting to watch), and ice dancing.

Oh yeah, and tomorrow we're going up one last time to see the closing ceremonies!

Who knows if I'll ever go to the Olympics again, you know? But I have so many memories from that weekend. Here, let me share a few pictures...

we always had great seats, since they were technically for "family and friends" of the athletes

I've gotta learn how to do that

me showing off my olympic spirit

well found he liked vancouver pretty well

In other news, I have watched way more Doctor Who in the past 12 hours than is probably healthy...and I am completely loving it! I'm only four episodes into season two, but I thought the season one finale was extraordinary, especially the end. I was scared I was going to hate season two because of the new doctor but oh my god I love David Tennant! Now I'm scared I'm going to hate season four because I love him so much! I'm just afraid that from here, the next step is to wrap up Doctor Who and get hooked to Torchwood, since I'm a pretty humongous fan of Captain Jack as well.

Sorry, random geek fest. But I'm so buying this poster.

  1. I'm so jealous!
Although I watched ski cross on television (you know, when it was on at about midnight...) and I didn't like it all that much -- maybe if I knew anything about skiing I would have enjoyed it more, but in my opinion it seemed like whoever started in the lead stayed there...
My personal favorite winter sport is two-men bobsled (I supported Germany and Russia for that instead of the US, though, because they were much more fun to watch. Seriously, if you haven't seen the first day with Germany team 1 and 2, you have MISSED OUT). I also liked the men's ski jump... thing. :/ Plus I watched speed skating to see Ohno win his medals.

I don't understand how anyone can like Captain Jack. I really, really don't... he's always just popping up everywhere and being annoying.
But trust me, the best assistant is actually Donna and really not Rose... ;)

  2. It was so much fun!
Yeah, see, half of it was the crowds screaming and cheering and stuff. That made ski cross exciting--usually they jostle a lot more for the lead, and there are more crashes and stuff. It was a very odd round of races. I missed the bobsled, but did you see the Norwegian curling team's pants? I want a pair! Hahaha :D

I saw Ohno's miraculous steal of a silver medal, after Korea crashed at the very last second. Wasn't that crazy?!

Hahaha, Jack is so funny! He's so flamboyant and boyish...he reminds me so much of Han Solo in Star Wars, my other "bad boy" love, after Danny from Grease, haha. Oh man.

Aww, no, Rose and the Doctor have the BEST chemistry!!! I don't want a new companion!!!

  4. I HATE ROSE, OH MY GOD.
She was so obnoxious and she was always wearing the UGLIEST clothes!

  5. Yeah, sorry, but Rose sucks. There are two companions after her and Donna is BY FAR the best because she and the Doctor are hilarious together!
lol Norway is the best, haha. :) Australia's speed skating outfits were really bizarre -- did you see them? I just saw one of them last night in the womens' and was like "Um, what country is that???"

Ctp. Jack is just annoyingly written. It's like, "Hello, I'm Captain Jack, I will be really annoying in this series but always semi-cheerful because I'm gay." What??

  6. P.S. Norway's pants are running for about $90, just fyi. :P I'd give you the link, but I don't think I can find it again.
